Under Scores: 2026 Weitzman Fine Arts MFA Thesis Exhibition
May 1-31, 2026
Opening reception: Thursday, April 30, from 5 – 8 pm
Arthur Ross Gallery (in Fisher Fine Arts Library) + Gordon Gallery (in Weitzman Hall)

The Department of Fine Arts at the University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design and the Arthur Ross Gallery present Under Scores, the 2026 MFA Thesis Exhibition featuring new work by eight second-year candidates for the Master of Fine Arts degree, including Ana González, Cacie Rosario Jackson, Sol Kim, Dylan Li, Jingyi Ling, Noa Mori Machover, Shay Myerson, and Ambika Trasi. Working across sculpture, installation, moving image, and interdisciplinary practices, these artists ask what it means to live inside complex systems that often elude our attention. The exhibition reflects the breadth and critical rigor of Weitzman’s Fine Arts MFA program, in which each artist develops an independent body of work grounded in sustained research, experimentation, and dialogue, culminating in projects that are formally ambitious and critically engaged. Spanning two venues, the historic Arthur Ross Gallery in the Fisher Fine Arts Library and the newly constructed Gordon Gallery in Weitzman Hall, the exhibition brings together practices that probe what lies beneath the visible order of things.
The annual Weitzman Fine Arts MFA Thesis Exhibition marks a key moment for emerging artists as they launch their professional careers. It also offers audiences an opportunity to encounter new work at the forefront of contemporary practice.
Under Scores: 2026 Weitzman Fine Arts MFA Thesis Exhibition is curated by Emily Zimmerman, Director of Exhibitions and Curatorial Affairs at the Arthur Ross Gallery.
