Student Advisory Board
The Arthur Ross Gallery Student Advisory Board at the University of Pennsylvania serves as the liaison between Penn students and the Gallery.
Comprising of students form diverse disciplines, levels, and courses of study, the Student Advisory Board commits itself to providing inroads for all students seeking greater contact with the Gallery and the arts on campus.
As a member of the Student Advisory Board, you will aid in planning student events, brainstorming student engagement opportunities, and facilitating the Gallery’s mission of expanding Penn students’ knowledge of art and art history.
The Student Advisory Board meets monthly during the academic year, culminating with a student-run and attended celebration in the Spring semester.

Student Guides Program
The Arthur Ross Gallery Student Guides Program offers a unique opportunity to meet staff members and guest curators as you develop and provide gallery tours for the Penn community and public.
The Arthur Ross Gallery Student Guide Program brings our exhibitions to life through student voices. Student Guides are paid for their time, and we welcome applications year-round. As a Student Guide, you’ll receive curator-led training and hands-on workshops that spark curiosity, deepen your knowledge of the works on view, and prepare you to connect with visitors in meaningful ways. Along the way, you’ll sharpen your public speaking, learn how to craft compelling stories about art, and build practical skills in audience assessment.

Internships
Arthur Ross Gallery Interns will have a highly interactive, hands-on experience as they become familiar with the overall organizational structure of the Gallery and its role as an art institution within the University of Pennsylvania.
Intern positions are hired for the academic year.
- Digital Media Intern
From running the Gallery’s social media accounts to documenting our live events, this position is integral to the successful functioning of the Gallery. The Digital Media Intern will work closely with staff to generate promotional materials for the Gallery’s exhibitions and programming. - Gallery Intern
The Gallery Intern will collaborate with staff on substantive projects related to the Gallery’s exhibitions, as well as perform administrative operations. Gallery Interns will learn hands-on about the many aspects of managing an ambitious exhibition, including: condition reporting, budgeting, exhibition design, loan agreements, adjunct programming, marketing, and community engagement.

This internship was an important first step for me as a student to explore my personal and professional goals. I was invited and encouraged to propose new ideas, as well as receiving the appropriate assistance and instructions, many of which were really useful and hands-on.
