Join us in the Gallery Thursday, September 29 at 5:30PM
for a performance conceived by artist Sean Riley (MFA ’04).
“INSOLUBLE is a reflection on the mysterious beauty of the color blue as naturally derived from the Indigo plant. It recognizes and memorializes the inhumane production process as it occurred for centuries in plantations around the world and in the New Orleans region between 1720 – 1794.”
Sean will perform alongside Jessica Slaven (MFA ’05), Taji Ra’off Nahl, and Elliott Levin.
INSOLUBLE is part of a series of programming in conjunction with the current show,
Darkwater Revival: After Terry Adkins (Aug. 27 – Dec. 11, 2016)
In 1999, Sean Riley (b. 1977) received a BFA in Painting from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. In 2004 he received an MFA in Sculpture from the University of Pennsylvania.
